School Council
Who we are:
Spire Junior School Council consists of children from Year 3 to Year 6 who meet regularly to discuss school issues such as fundraising, playtimes and the curriculum.
What we do:
We act as elected representatives for our year groups at our School Council meetings and share our ideas, suggestions and opinions with Mrs Vernon and other staff members. The feedback from the meetings is used to improve the school environment, provision, lessons and activities.
We also get the opportunity to visit Chesterfield Town Hall and the Houses of Parliament in London as School Councillors.
When we do it:
We meet at least twice each half term and support school staff with their activities. This year, we will be working alongside the school SMILERS to support activities in school too.

Friday 4th October: This term, we met with Mrs Vernon (our Headteacher) and Mr Hilton (our Chair of Governors) and had a drink and a biscuit at our first meeting! Mrs Vernon took the minutes, and Mr Hilton chaired the meeting to show us how it is supposed to be done.
